Alemayehu Duga is a PhArmacoVIgilance(PAVIA) coordinator in Eswatini, where his main duties are to coordinate Pharmacovigilance activities and continuous mentoring support to the health workers in Eswatini on Pharmacovigilance, adverse drug reaction reporting and monitoring.
Alemayehu received his Bachelor degree in Pharmacy at Jimma University, Ethiopia in 2010 and a Masters in clinical research at Central University of Nicaragua (UCN) in 2017. He has also done certificate course in Sexual and Reproductive Health from Geneva Foundation for Medical Education and Research (GFMER) and Certificate in Global Health and Global Health Pharmacy at University of Rwanda.
He has multi-cultural background and suited with wide range of experience in different sectors. He has more than 7 years of experience in two different countries as a hospital pharmacist, retail pharmacies and as a lecturer at Eswatini Medical Christian University (EMCU) and Southern Africa Nazarene University (SANU). He has also worked as a Technical Advisor- Patient safety at different USAID funded projects like Management Sciences for Health (MSH/SIAPS) and Supply Chain and Pharmaceutical Assistance for Sustainable System (SC-PASS). He involves in research and published more than six studies and technical papers as a first author and jointly with others.
